Love, Christianity, Jesus and Salvation

It seems like Christianity and Jesus are increasingly under attack. What's going on? What we'll be looking at is what happens when Christians use human wisdom to interpret the Bible, twisting scripture away from its intended message. This blog is dedicated to using Scripture itself to interpret and help us understand Scripture. You are welcome to add your comments and thoughts. Other viewpoints are welcome. Disagreements are welcome.

2 Timothy 3:12

In the previous two postings I've talked about desiring to live a holy and godly life, and what that means. How can you tell if you are desiring to life a godly life? Read 2 Timothy 3:12, which says:

"In fact, every one who desires to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted."

Have you been persecuted? There have been more Christian martyrs in the 20th century than the sum of all martyrs in the previous 1900 years. Currently about 156,000 Christains are martyred every year. But very few of them have lived in this country. In America we generally don't face death or injury for obeying God. What we face is getting our feeling hurt when someone rejects us or... gasp!!... calls us a bad name. Has even that happen to you Christian? Have you desired to live a godly life enough such that you have been rejected, left out, or called names?
